One Day to Go!

  • July 14, 2018

It’s the day before the big day!

The club allowed me to have the airplane at 5:00 PM so that I could prepare it for the tour, which starts tomorrow. A thorough cleaning and the application of www.hoptour2018.com stickers will help identify the airplane during public events. Loading the airplane takes some time because you have to fit in three pieces of luggage, the aircraft maintenance kit with the chocks, the mooring kit, the cleaning supplies, and the three “quantities” – technical terms for the approximately one-liter containers of engine oil needed to top up the level. All that’s left to do is fill the tank with AVGAS, and the crew is fully prepared!

Jean-Marc, Vice-President of the ACRIV, told me the story behind the airplane’s registration. It’s a tribute to Anne-Sophie Helleu, a well-known figure in the ACRIV, who is heavily involved in the club’s activities. So this year, the HOP! Tour will be “a HASH of a lot of” fun!
