Niort-Rennes

  • July 31, 2018

After a night of rest at the B&B where I slept for nearly 11 hours straight, I feel refreshed and ready to continue my journey. A portion of the trip was by bus, which is inexpensive since the buses in Niort are free, and Dimitri called me (you know him, the guy from the airfield yesterday) to come pick me up. There are still some good people left on this planet… So, I barely walked from the bus stop to the airfield.

Takeoff was at 11:15 AM with average but significantly better weather than yesterday. I arrived in Rennes at 12:45 PM after a smooth flight. Now it’s just a matter of emptying the aircraft, removing the sponsor stickers (which takes some effort to remove the adhesive residue), and recording the flight hours on Aérogest, the aircraft management system for the Aero Club.

In total, 22 hours during the HOP! Tour 2018, thanks to excellent flying conditions provided by the experience and skill of the organizers, whom I would like to thank publicly on this blog. And of course, a big thank you to ACRIV, my Aero Club, without which I wouldn’t have had an aircraft to make this exceptional journey at the age of 18.

I’m becoming a specialist in photographing VORs! Following the one from Limoges that I photographed yesterday, here’s another one in Angers, also along my route.
