Aeronautical charts

Aeronautical charts are different from road maps. They contain more detailed information to allow pilots to orient themselves relative to the ground and understand the various airspaces (and sometimes avoid restricted airspace).

Controlled airspaces are shown in blue.

The small, red hatched circle west of Rennes indicates a regulated airspace (military zone).

Small blue circles with white outlines represent landing areas and runway orientations.

Green rectangles marked as SIVs denote en-route information sectors with radio frequencies.
